Boomerang the Dog takes you on a jaunt around Lyth Hill taking in the lovely views and spectacular scenery which inspired famous Shropshire poet Mary Webb.
The unspoilt beauty of Lyth Hill is designated a Country Park and can be found south of Shrewsbury along the A49 towards Ludlow. The Park consists of areas of woodland, scrub, and open grassland providing a doggy paradise on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.

From the view point 160 metres above sea level you are rewarded with panoramic views in every direction taking in the Wrekin, Ironbridge, Caer Caradoc, the Long Mynd, the Stiperstones, the Berwyn mountains in Wales, Nescliffe, Pimhill and Grinshill.
It’s no wonder it inspired poet Mary Webb in the early 20th century who described the area as “her home of colour and light.”
This five mile dog friendly route is unusual as it combines a picture landscape with a relatively flat walk although there are a number of stiles along the way.

- At the road pick up a further footpath to your right which leads you into a field. From here you need to follow the signs across five fields (and stiles) until you reach a country lane.

- Bear left across another couple of fields and pick up a path which takes you up a hill until you reach a gate. Turning right along the road will take you towards Lyth Bank.
